Start from one warm light
Pick one light and name it early in the prompt: a diya held close to the face. Then say what happens to everything else. "Warm bokeh" and a "dark blurred background" keep the lamps behind her soft, so they glow instead of competing.

Let the flame do the work
The same pose under two different lights. At dusk the sky lights her face evenly and the diya is a prop. After dark the diya is the only light: it warms her face from below, catches her eyes and leaves the background to the city lights.

Chiaroscuro is the painter's word for one strong light and deep shadow. This prompt asks for half the face in shadow and a warm, golden-yellow glow on the other half, against a flat ochre wall. That is how a diya at shoulder height lights a face, but the prompt never says where the glow comes from. Name the source: the glow comes from a diya held at shoulder height. We have not run that change, so check that the flame lands where you meant it to.

Most festive portrait prompts on the site are written for women. Dark scenes need more words, not fewer. OpenAI's GPT Image prompting guide says that for low-light scenes you should "add extra detail about scale, atmosphere, and color so the model does not trade mood for surface realism". Name the colour of the light and what it touches: amber light on her cheekbones and earrings, not just dark.
Can Nano Banana Pro keep my face too?
Yes. Google's Nano Banana Pro guide says it takes up to 14 reference images, 6 of them at high fidelity, and advises saying it outright: "Keep the person's facial features exactly the same as Image 1." The candle edit, the kurta portrait and the couple prompt above all work that way.
